About the artist: The path to this web site has been both a combination of love of animals and love of painting. After qualifying in Graphic Design initially, I have now combined that continual passion by painting animals. For many years my main occupation has been with rescue animals, working with so many abandoned or mistreated individuals for the RSPCA.

Animals have such forgiving souls, such expressive natures and such endearing characters. If it is true that the eyes are the windows to the soul, then this must surely be the most expressive part of any animal. For this reason, when painting a beloved pet I find the eyes the most important factor. Personally I find that they convey the character of an animal more than any other feature.
Of course, over the years working with animals I have acquired several of my own.

My husband and I currently share our home with four cats, one house rabbit and a rat!
When I am painting I usually have one or more of them eager to help, or pose!
I have specialized in the medium of watercolours for the last few years.  I find it the most versatile and enjoyable to work with.
